Abstract

This article goes into the question of the role of the sanctuary of Apollo Amyklaios in shaping social reality, the tradition of the conquest of Lakonia and Messenia and the foreign policy in the context of the civic role of the sanctuary of Amyklai. Furthermore, it is also about how these events have affected to the configuration of the rites that take place during the Hyakinthia.
