The article analyzes the characteristics of the Genius Populi Romani throughout its history and pays particular attention to developments since the introduction of his worship in 218 B.C., until Theodosius banned the cult in the year 392. The fourth century deserves special consideration, mainly the relationship of Genius with Diocletian, Constantine, Constantius II and Julian.Downloads
