Abstract

Article 4 of the Spanish Act of International Adoption (Ley 54/2007 of December 28, 2007) is one of the most important and novel precepts. This paper focuses the analysis of the cases and controls its operation from a practical perspective that will analyze the application of article 4 by the competent authorities. The paper also consider the impact that the implementation of that provision will have on the extraterritorial validity of foreign adoptions.
