Abstract

This study deals with the Government Indemnity Scheme, an alternative to commercial insurance.In according with the Government Indemnity Scheme, when institutions borrow works of art covered by it, compensation will be paid to the lender by the Government in the event of loss or damage.As there are many differences between indemnity schemes, this study analyses the Spanish and British scheme.
