Abstract

The relation between private international law and cultural identity, as well as thepossible transformation of the conflict of laws in a conflict (clash) of civilizations, have been dealt withby depth recent studies. The integration between problems related to human rights and private internationallaw offers the opportunity to read the traditional conflictual technique in the light of the methodthat the European Court of Human Rights has elaborated in order to balance the conflic-ting interests.
