Abstract

The aim of this paper is to approximate the reader to the instrument created by Regulation No. 650/2012, called as a European Certificate of succesrion. This document, designed to have the same effects in all member states of the European Succsesion regulation, has the purpose that those interested in its issue can prove their status as heir, legatee, testamentary executor or administrator of the inheritance in a transnational succession. The purpose of the European Certificate of Succession is to facilitate the transnational succession. However, there are aspects of the certificate that have not been regulated by the European legislator in a concrete and precise way, which may result in their application not being uniform in practice.
