In the global art market, the acquisition of works at auctions frequently raises questions related to Private International Law. Within the complex structure of the operation, in the event of a dispute arising from the purchase of a work of art two issues must be addressed: the international jurisdiction and the applicable Law, where the lex auctionis takes on particular importance.
