Arte feminista. Empoderamiento de las mujeres en el arte. El ejemplo de Paula Rego

Abstract

Ever since 70’s feminism, art made for women tries to question artistic values of cultural western tradition, attempting to analyse and revise their role and identity of woman states for masculine perspective and view from immemorial times. Through their works of art, artist women, aware of stereotypes and social and cultural restrictions, try to show new ideas about the feminine and how women acquire an increasing empowerment. The case of Paula Rego is specially significant of this new situation.
