Resumen

Constantino VII Porfirogénito (945-959 d.C.) pone en práctica un peculiar mantenimiento institucional basado en la recopilación de libros y materiales del pasado. Un análisis más detallado de las fuentes desvela significados más profundos y muestra que las metáforas recurrentes del cuerpo y la familia conforman su proyecto, aclarando la agenda institucional y social que sustentaba su mantenimiento personificado.
