Abstract

The article analyses the emergence of the concept of indigenous peoples and its evolution, focusing on some on the main international legal instruments that have shaped this field –Convention N° 169, International Labour Organization and Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, United Nations-, and several debates about them.
