Abstract

Given the political and common use of term trust, this paper has two aims. First, it focuses on what trust is, why it has become important, what its nature is and the typology that scholars have outlined to analyse it. The second aim is to explain how to promote trust. Because trust is important for democracy, governance and rule of law, it is essential to understand the role that the State and public policies have in its creation or development.
