The paper analyses the central role assigned to the fixed-term intermittent contract by the 2021 labour reform and provides an assessment of its recent evolution. It examines doctrinal, judicial and collective bargaining responses, together with the available data on its use, highlighting both the expansion of this contractual form and the interpretative and operational difficulties it raises. The study concludes that, despite its statistical success in reducing temporary employment, significant uncertainties remain regarding its functioning and its contribution to the effective stability of employment.
