In the Italian legal system, in contrast to what happened in Spanish labour law, since the seventies of last century, several provisions have been configured in the field of employer control, among which is the possibility of using remote control systems, without there being a similar provision in our legislation. This essay offers an approach to the legal configuration of remote company monitoring contained in the Italian Workers’ Statute, giving an account of both the original version and the scope of its reform under the Jobs Act.
