Abstract

The Law 47/2015 establishes different categories of employed and self-employed divers. Essentially, this regulation applies to professional divers dedicated to the extraction of marine resources and divers with professional qualifications in industrial activities, included in the special social security regime for the sea, as opposed to divers with sport-recreational qualifications, initially excluded from it. Despite this fact, the truth is that diving activities turn out to be many more. This is highlighted by RD 550/2020, which regulates the safety conditions of diving activities. A critical reading of the RD 550/2020, allows us to see the direct impact on the work activity of those we have chosen to call ‘homos aquaticus professionalis’.
