Abstract

The Research Support Unit (UNIP) of the Poniente Public Health Agency (El Ejido - Almería) was created in 2006 with the aim of promoting research activity through the creation of a support and accompaniment structure for professionals with interest in researching in its 4 affiliated centers in the provinces of Almería and Granada. The support given by the UNIP, since its creation, has allowed health professionals to train in a significant number of basic and specialized courses in the field of research. The UNIP has been established as a link between health professionals and the entities that finance research projects. Furthermore, communication has become a fundamental axis for the recognition of research activity, organizing the annual Poniente Investiga Research Conference.
