Cicerón, Demetrio de Fáleron y la Roma primitiva

Abstract

Los romanos desconocían el pasado más remoto de su Ciudad, hecho
por el cual la historia en Roma nunca había alcanzado el nivel de
los griegos. Los romanos que abordaron ese pasado rellenaron las fases
desconocidas de su historia utilizando la historia griega y su propia
historia más reciente. En este punto, Solón, Demetrio de Fáleron y
Cicerón conforman un triángulo de conexiones y dependencias que, a
nuestro ¡uicio, la historiografía actual no ha subrayado de forma adecuada.

Summary: The Romans ignored the most remote past of their people, which is why
Roman history failed to reach the level of Greek historians. Roman historians
who wrote about their past filled in unknown historical periods
by taking Greek history and attaching parts of it to their own, more
recent history. Looked at from this point of view, Solan, Demetrios of
Phaleron and Cicero form a triangle of relationships and sub¡ections
which, in our opinion, hove not been fairly emphasized in present hi storiography.
