This paper analyses foreign influence on the diverse forms of religiosity of the Iberian peoples settled on the Mediterranean coast. Clear examples from well-known case studies will be used to illustrate the interaction between the religion of the ‘colonizing’ peoples and that of the indigenous peoples of the Iberian Peninsula.
