Antero había creado las bases para una libre discusión de temas y valores que venían a agitar la paz de Portugal, alejado de los grandes centros de producción cultural de Europa. Esta intelectualidad portuguesa se había lanzado a una empresa de más amplio impacto público. En ella se va a insistir en una línea de pensamiento político que contempla a Portugal y España de nuevo unidos. Este artículo repasará brevemente las líneas que vertebran Portugal ante la revolución de España, para caracterizar el contexto sociopolítico en que apareció este texto. El folleto de Antero incide en tres planos de análisis: el de la ponderación ideológica transnacional, el de la caracterización de los eventos de 1868 en articulación con esa ponderación y, finalmente, el de las consecuencias, para Portugal, de la revolución española.</p> <p><strong>Palabras clave</strong>: Antero de Quental, Iberismo, intelectuales, historia de España y Portugal, identidad cultural.</p> <p><strong>Abstract</strong>: From the figure and work of Antero de Quental, are reviewed ideas of Iberianism and federation from the point of view of Portuguese intellectuals. Quental reacted to the revolution of Cadiz, with the pamphlet “Portugal ante la revolución de España” and much of the content of this pamphlet was already summarized in the subtitle: Considerations on the future of Portuguese politics from the point of view of the Iberian democracy. Antero had created the foundation for an open discussion of issues and values that came to shake the peace of Portugal, away from the great centers of cultural production in Europe. This Portuguese intelligentsia had launched a company for wide public impact. It is going to insist on a line of political thought that includes Portugal and Spain together again. This article will briefly go over the lines that form the backbone of “Portugal ante la revolución de España”, to characterize the socio-political context in which this text appeared. Antero’s booklet affects three levels of analysis: the transnational ideological weigh, the characterization of the events of 1868 in coordination with that weigh and finally the consequences for Portugal of the Spanish revolution.</p> <p><strong>Keywords</strong>: Antero de Quental, Iberianism, intellectual history of Spain and Portugal, cultural identity.</p&gt;}, number={2}, journal={SEMIOSFERA, convergencias y divergencias culturales.
