Abstract

The year 2021 marks a turning point in Jordan, with the creation of a Royal Commission for Political Modernization. The goal is to create a party system that leaves behind the clientelist dynamics that had captured the parliament in the past. Nevertheless, the legislature remains subordinate to the other branches of government, and there is still no physical or digital space for society to organize itself along ideological lines.
