This article analyses the introduction of technology in care activities, taking into account its social impact from a gender perspective. The incorporation of technological devices in the logic of care is a reality that should be analysed from a dual perspective encompassing both benefits and difficulties, in order to examine in a comprehensive manner the consequences that are generated in the care-women relationship. There are several elements that contribute to a process of female empowerment but, at the same time, there are numerous elements that limit women's agency and their social position.
