Abstract

Sometimes, the Comfort Letters incorporate Gentlemen’s Agreements especially in the Anglo-Saxon World. In these cases and when legal claims are made on the basis of these personal guarantees (frequently used in the negotiation of international credits), a particular and proper approach from the field of legal systems conflicts is required. This paper makes an approach to this difficult and barely studied question. It includes a protocol of action with the objective of facilitating to the practitioner of the Law the analysis of the questions of Private International Law involved in a legal claim.
