Political opposition (in democracies)
Abstract
The article offers a critical review of some central issues and conceptual dimensions related to political opposition as an object of study, as well as its varieties, roles, and functions in democratic regimes. Special attention is devoted to assessing the factors inherent to opportunity structure that influence the power of the parliamentary opposition.
