Abstract

The following paper considers some aspects of the relation between language and politics in Plato’s. After a brief interpretation of some of the theses of Plato’s philosophy of language, the paper analyses the political and moral power that Plato identifies in language, and ponders specific uses of language proposed by Plato in education, and his critique of tragedy.
