Dengue en Corrientes (Argentina): Estrategia de comunicación en Twitter durante el brote de 2016 = Dengue fever in Corrientes (Argentina): Communication strategy in Twitter during the outbreak of 2016
Abstract

According to the Ministry of Health of the Nation, in 2016 Argentina faced the worst epidemic outbreak of dengue since 2009. The northeast of Argentina is the area most affected by cases of dengue, given a combination of high temperatures and humidity. The province of Corrientes, also, due to its geographical situation, has a high level of vulnerability to the presence of the virus-carrying mosquito. This article shows the results of content analysis of the official Twitter account @saludcorrientes, from January 1 to April 30, 2016 in regards to the phenomenon. The study takes into account that, in the digital era, social networks are a key instrument to inform the population about any health emergency.
