Effectiveness of intervention through telerehabilitation in Primary Care on adult people with degenerative pathology of the rotator cuff shoulder
Abstract
Introduction: The degenerative pathology of shoulder rotator cuff has a high prevalence in Primary Care. Telerehabilitation applied in musculoskeletal pathology gives us positive results regarding the improvement of functionality and pain. Objectives: To analyse the effectiveness of an intervention using telerehabilitation in adult population affected by degenerative pathology of shoulder rotator cuff in Primary Care. Methodology: A protocol was designed defining the area of application, target population, inclusion/exclusion criteria, intervention plan and measures to be evaluated. Results: A total of five women with degenerative pathology of shoulder rotator cuff participated. After finishing the intervention, test scores improved at 2, 5, 8 and 12 weeks. Conclusions: The intervention through telerehabilitation allows the approach of a problem with high prevalence in Primary Care such as the degenerative pathology of shoulder rotator cuff, facilitating access to the population, avoiding journeys to the healthcare center and offering quality care to patients. The results obtained allow us to sense that this intervention seems to be effective and viable to treat this pathology, but a clinical trial is required for its validation.
