Royal University of Mexico: historiography and context
Abstract
This essay briefly recounts four historiographical phases of the Royal University of Mexico, starting from the colonial period and ending at the beginning of the 21st century. It also places each of the four phases in its respective context and points to the different research and key works in the historiographical development. Likewise, in the case of the most recent historiography, it refers to research groups dedicated to studying the history of the universities in Mexico and Spain and the academic exchanges that have occurred in recent decades.
