Del americanismo al latinoamericanismo: artes visuales en la década del setenta

Resumen

Resumen: Dentro y fuera del subcontinente, las circunstancias y hechos de los años 70 marcaron la dinámica de la identidad removiendo las anteriores estructuras del pensamiento latinoamericano, consecuencia tanto de la situación de América Latina en lo político, económico y social como del pensamiento europeo y la crisis epistemológica que vivió por esta época. El tránsito del Americanismo al Latinoamericanismo que lleva implícito el problema de la identidad, uno de los pilares sobre los que se ha elaborado el pensamiento latinoamericano, será determinante al trasladarse a las distintas áreas de la cultura. En el caso de las artes visuales, su revisión posee matices diferenciadores, que tienen que ver con la naturaleza de estos lenguajes en el subcontienete latinoamericano y muy especialmente con el desarrollo de los discursos artísticos desencadenado por de esta crisis en Occidente. Haremos un recorrido por los nombres, propuestas y eventos que tuvieron como centro esta problemática en una época, como fue la década del 70, determinante en la historiografía crítica del arte de esta región.

Abstract: The circumstances  and facts of the 70’s, inside and out of the subcontinent, marked the identity  dynamics stirring previous  Latin-American  thought  structures,  as a consequence  of  the situation of Latin America regarding political, economic and social  aspects as well as for the European thought and the epistemological crisis surrounding that period.  The shift from Americanism to Latino Americanism, which carries in itself the problem of identity,  one of the foundations on which Latin- American thought has been elaborated, will be decisive as it moves to the different areas of Culture. In the case of Visual Arts, its revision allows differentiating aspects that deal with the nature of these languages  on  the  Latin  American  subcontinent,  especially  with  the  development  of  the  artistic discourse triggered by this crisis on the West.  We will present a panorama of the names, proposals and events that had this problem as center, on a period, the decade of the 70’s, decisive in the Art Critic Historiography of this region.
