Abstract

When it comes to honor the great teacher Calvo Caravaca, the undersigned must underline the help and support of the person who paved the way for us and made us reflect on the academic work that has led me to Cuadernos de Derecho Transnacional and to his person. Since a converted Doctor in Civil Law, a lover of European and procedural law, came to the area of Private International Law, counted on the complicity of Professor Calvo and Professor Carrascosa. Since that first meeting in Murcia in May 2016, several of my academic reflections published in Cuadernos de Derecho Transnacional focused on the reception of the criteria to define the habitual residence of minors in the European Regulations. And finally, the Regulation on cross-border parenthood achieved this goal: it provided the first European legislative proposal to define the criteria for habitual residence for minors. My reflection on this matter serves as a token of gratitude and tribute to the great Professor Calvo Caravaca, to our beloved Alfonso.
