Bolognese Universities 4+ (Master) or 3+ (Master)? Is this the Question, or another Side of the same Problem?
Abstract
This article analyzes some current aspects of the Spanish university system and discusses the need to implement serious reforms, mainly with regard to the state universities. We analyze, in particular, the selection of university staff, the need to reform thoroughly the ANECA agency, the duplication of university institutions, the Spanish version of the Bologna Reform, and the nowadays fashionable trends of the so-called ‘new pedagogy’. The concluding reflections are in line with the report issued on 12 February 2013 by the Experts Committee for the Reform of the Spanish Universities, of which the author was a member.
