Turkish migrant communities in Germany: Examining the identity transformation
Abstract
This article examines the community identity and its contradiction with the nation-state in relation to the integration of migrants in societies with different cultural backgrounds. It is used as a proxy the case of Turkish immigrants in Germany. Since the mechanisms of identity construction and identity models the institutional advantages by immigrants appear for getting better positions to develop their activities in the host society and overcome the contradiction of identities.
