Cross border women: the most vulnerable link in the borderland. A comparison between borders of the Mexico-Guatemala and Spain-Morocco

Abstract

This article is the result of a research in borders areas, that, despite being geo­graphically in different areas, they share similar characteristics and the phenomenon object of the investigation, cross border women. The theoretical framework of the research has been oriented in the border studies of the frontier with a gender perspective. The methodology used is oriented on ethnography as logic of social research. After this process, the results that have been achieved have shown that, despite being different contexts on the same social phenom­enon, structural factors determine those differences, however, gender inequalities homogenize their situations and show the differences between cross border women.
