Francisco de Zea Bermúdez e alguns aspectos da política externa portuguesa do seu tempo (1828-1824)
Abstract
Resumen: El presente artículo pretende enumerar algunas perspectivas documentadas sobre la intervención que Francisco de Zea Bermúdez, famoso estadista y diplomático español de la primera mitad del s. XIX, desarrolló en relación a la política externa portuguesa. En Londres y Madrid, mientras era embajador, Presidente del consejo y Ministro de asuntos extranjeros en España, Zea influenció directa e indirectamente en la diplomacia portuguesa de su tiempo, durante la regencia del reinado de D. Miguel (1828-1834). Una de las fuentes privilegiadas utilizadas fue el ministro portugués de los extranjeros de D. Miguel, el vizconde de Santarém, que desempeñó esa función entre marzo de 1828 y agosto de 1833.

Abstract: the present article aims to itemize some documented perspectives about the intervention of Francisco de Zea Bermúdez, famous Spanish statesman and diplomat of the first half of the 19th century, regarding Portuguese external politics. In London and Madrid, as ambassador, president of the council of ministers and Foreign Affairs minister of Spain, Zea influenced, both directly and indirectly, the Portuguese diplomacy of his time, during the years of the regency and reign of D. Miguel (1828-1834). One of the main written sources that was used was D. Miguel’s foreign affairs minister, viscount of Santarém, in office between March of 1828 and August of 1833.
