the case of coal mines in northwestern Spain
Abstract
Faced with the necessary transformation of the production model, especially the energy sector, and instead of improvised decisions, it is necessary to design a roadmap that allows for the configuration of a production model based on the concept of green employment and decent work. For this reason, a brief overview is given of the Spanish Law on Climate Change and Energy Transition and its development instruments, the concept of green employment and the characteristics it should contain are examined in depth and, finally, the coal mining industry is analysed as a case study, which has been the testing ground for carrying out a just transition in the energy sector in Spain.
