Abstract

In the context of the risks posed by the increasing application of neurotechnologies to the human brain, the emergence of a new right known as cognitive freedom is noteworthy. This right entails the freedom of individuals to make their own decisions without the interference of neurotechnologies in their brain. The emergence of this new right has brought about profound ethical and legal reflections. Within this framework, from a human rights perspective, there are various arguments that either recognize or question the feasibility of acknowledging this new right as a human and/or fundamental right.
