Behavioural policies
Abstract
Behavioural policies provide interpretive clues that improve the design, selection and implementation of responses to public problems and policies tools that increase the chances of reaching legitimate and effective solutions to “cursed problems”. This voice presents the new technologies of government that collect behavioural contributions: nudges, social norm, think and identity change. After that, it offers clues as to how efforts to translate behavioural knowledge into policies have been institutionalized, whether ad hoc, cross-sectional, or organizationally, and the importance of integrating qualitative methodologies to increase the effectiveness of experimental interventions. The criticisms of the nudge approach are summarized below: who designs, the issues they address, and their effectiveness. It concludes by highlighting the expectations for the future raised by the subject and how to join and integrate new governmental technologies to classic ones.
