Human trafficking
Abstract
This paper addresses the definition of the heinous problem of trafficking in human beings. It starts with an analysis of the concept of trafficking in human beings and its elements through 21st century international and European regulations. It then discusses the similarities, differences, and connections with human trafficking. In addition, it reviews the problems of measurement and the data that are used in various fields to observe its evolution. Finally, it points out the changes and challenges that the digital era, and also the COVID-19 pandemic, pose to the response and fight against human trafficking
