The Declaration of Sharm el-Sheikh. Reflections and approaches in the light of environmental peace from a complex and Latin American perspective

Abstract

This research article takes as its starting point the Sharm el-Sheikh Declaration, which aims to integrate biodiversity, with all sectors that are involved in achieving harmony with nature. At the methodological level, it has been elaborated on the basis of the analytical method, using the document review tool and legal hermeneutics. In particular, this study analyzes different aspects that are problematized around the question: ¿Investing in biodiversity for people and planet? In addition to highlighting the nature-culture relationship that the United Nations has manifested, opening the way to reflect on environmental peace as a conciliatory alternative between human and nature, from the complex thinking and a Latin American perspective, specifically from the Good Living / Living Well Andean and judgment T-622/2016 of the Constitutional Court of Colombia, which integrates the well-known Earth Jurisprudence. Finally, some reflections are presented that will open new possibilities of academic debate in the configuration of environmental peace; in the political with decision makers and in the legal; the elaboration of new legislative frameworks and judicial decisions, which will surely have an impact on the benefit of the Community of Life.
