Los estudios sobre magia en Hispania romana desde el cambio de era (2000-2016)
Abstract
This paper analyses the interpretative trends of recent decades in the study of magic in the Iberian Peninsula. Although early interest in the topic hatched during the 1960s, the study of magic in Hispania did not become fully fledged until the 1980s. Today there is still a certain tendency towards the interpretation of magic as a form of popular religiosity or as a deviation from the established order, but generally speaking the current interpretation of the sources from Hispania now follows the track originating with the 1990s paradigm-shift, where magic is no longer considered tacitly different to religion.
