Pedro Rimonte (1565-1627): Historiographical analysis
Abstract
The study analyzes the lines of research reflected in the extensive bibliography that includes the composer Pedro Rimonte among its pages, without intending to carry out an exhaustive examination of all the existing production. The chronology studied ranges from the editions produced at the beginning of the 17th century to the latest publications made today. The analysis includes more than one hundred volumes that mention the composer or his work, which are divided into four stages presented in chronological order and defined by the evolution of research over time. The study of how the bibliography evolved shows the adaptation of the content to some musicological and ideological currents prevailing in each era and discovers the permanence of some errors in the historiography that are still maintained in current publications.
