Violations of International Humanitarian Law against migrants in Spain and the EU. Jurisprudential review and analysis of the situation on the southern border
Abstract
In the midst of a very serious health crisis and an exceptional situation unprecedented in recent history caused by the pandemic, thousands of migrants continue to die in the waters of the Mediterranean in their attempt to reach Europe in search of new opportunities, after fleeing violence, war and armed conflict. This paper aims to reflect, through a jurisprudential review, some of the different violations of International Humanitarian and Refugee Law that have taken place in both Spanish and European territory in recent years.
