Affirmative action
Abstract
Affirmative actions are policy measures that emerged in the sixties in order to alleviate the discrimination suffered by certain groups. This paper briefly described how these actions have been justified, how they have been classified and what were the most common criteria followed by the courts to rule on their legitimacy.
