Focus and Scope
ΠΗΓΗ/FONS is an electronic peer-reviewed academic journal edited by the Institute of Classical Studies “Lucio Anneo Séneca”, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain) and the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, University of Pardubice (Czech Republic) since 2016. ΠΗΓΗ/FONS publishes articles, notes, discussions, book reviews and reports in the fields of philosophy, classics, ancient history and ancient political thought with particular attention to the reception of the classical legacy.
Peer Review Process
Only original contributions that have not been previously published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere are accepted after a preliminary examination by the Editorial Board (EB). The EB may reject accepting the submitted article or ask the author to improve it according to the journal’s policy before sending it to the reviewers. Research articles found eligible for subject, style, and content in the preliminary examination are sent to an external double-blind peer review. The reviews by two experts in the relevant subject area aim to assess the originality and quality of the manuscript and to improve it if necessary. If two peer reviews differ significantly, the article can be sent to a third peer reviewer. Based on the peer reviewer reports, the EB decides to publish the manuscript in its submitted version, request modifications, or refuse the article. After the author presents the improved manuscript, the EB assesses his commitment to the requirements and recommendations in the peer reviewer reports. The final decision on the manuscript's publication is the EB's responsibility. It is up to the EB to decide in which issue the article will be published.
