Comunicación e información alimentaria vs educación nutricional: ¿Existen concordancias? = Nutrition communication and information vs nutrition education: Are there commonalities?
Abstract
Resumen: La información que se comunica en materia de salud debe ser especializada, rigurosa y veraz. Su deber es concienciar a los ciudadanos, evitando, previniendo o reduciendo la incidencia de enfermedades. Una buena comunicación requiere de periodistas especializados y de la colaboración de investigadores, sociedades e instituciones científicas.
La divulgación poco exhaustiva puede generar alarmas innecesarias, promover la adopción de hábitos erróneos o crear falsas expectativas, por lo que una comunicación de calidad es necesaria.
Sin embargo, con la crisis en los medios de comunicación que ha tenido como consecuencia el despido de muchos profesionales, la calidad se ha visto comprometida. Debido a la aparición de internet y redes sociales el escenario se ha vuelto más complejo. Por un lado el ciudadano se ha convertido en emisor, amplificando la difusión del mensaje pero por otro, se exige que esta comunicación sea a tiempo real, lo cual dificulta su alto grado de especialización.

Abstract: The dissemination of health information has to be specialised, rigorous and trustworthy. Its objective is to raise awareness among the population, avoiding, preventing and diminishing the incidence of diseases. An efficient communication requires specialised journalists and the collaboration of researchers and scientific societies and institutions.
The dissemination of non-exhaustive information may generate unnecessary alarms, promote the adoption of inadequate habits or create false expectations therefore quality communication is necessary.
However, with the recession in media, which has had therefore the redundancy of many professionals, compromising the quality. Due to the emergence of internet and social media, the setting has turned out more complex. On the one hand, the citizen has become an emitter, amplifying the dissemination of the message but on the other hand, they demand this communication in real-time, which hinders its high degree of specialisation.
