Noticias sobre lactancia materna en la prensa nacional = Breastfeeding news in the national newspapers
Abstract
Resumen: Introducción: La lactancia materna es el mejor alimento para un bebé sano. Esta práctica puede ser promocionada a través de los medios de comunicación, apoyando así otras medidas que persiguen su mayor difusión entre la población. Objetivos: El objetivo de este artículo es realizar un análisis descriptivo de los contenidos sobre lactancia en dos periódicos de tirada nacional, el Mundo y el País durante los años 2011 a 2013. Material y método: Estudio descriptivo y longitudinal, analizando los artículos publicados en dos periódicos nacionales, en el periodo de 2011 a 2013. Para la búsqueda se usó el programa Lexis Nexis ® Academic utilizando como palabra de búsqueda “lactancia” en cualquiera de sus apartados. Resultados: Los artículos se han analizado por sección del periódico y temática principal. Las principales secciones son “Sociedad” y “España” y las principales temáticas “inconvenientes” y “permiso de lactancia”. Conclusiones: son escasas las publicaciones sobre lactancia y éstas no están dirigidas a promocionar la lactancia materna.

Abstract: Background: Breastfeeding is the best food for a healthy baby. This practice can be promoted through the media and other measures aimed to support wider dissemination among the population. Objectives: The aim of this paper is a descriptive analysis of the breastfeeding contents in two national newspapers, El Mundo and el País during the years 2011-2013. Material and methods: Descriptive longitudinal study, analyzing the articles published in two national newspapers in the period from 2011 to 2013. Search was performed with the Lexis Nexis ® Academic program using as key word "breastfeeding" in any of its sections. Results: Items used by newspaper section and main theme. The mayor sections are "Company" and "Spain" and the main themes "inconvenient" and "breastfeeding leave ". Conclusions: little literature on breastfeeding and these are not intended to promote breastfeeding.
