La ciencia del cine: De la barraca a la obra mutante de Cronenberg = The science of movies: From the stalls to Cronenberg’s mutant films
Abstract

Abstract: The evolution of cinema is interlocked to the technological advances, nay scientific. Among the greatest photo scientists, some pioneers such as Etienne Jules Marey or Muybridge have made major discoveries. Regarding the contents, film genres as the screwball comedy or the mad doctor movies have staged the scientist in a central role despite not proposing a deep critical comment about its recurrence. Key figure, the scientist has been canonized by the cinematic background and even trough the TV series, where they might also play a role midway between the heroism and a matter of derision. That is David Cronenberg who has revolutionized the science role by transforming all the film conventions about the subject. Cronenberg exploited its potential and presented the scientist under a new perspective where science must be seen not only as a threat but also as an opportunity for salvation, almost emancipation.
