The communication of health professionals in palliative care
Abstract
We are facing a society that denies and flees from death and in which health professionals to protect themselves from the frustration that causes the subject itself, establish communication barriers and distance themselves from their dying patients. The aim of this paper is to highlight the need to incorporate communication skills in healthcare through a literature review of the scientific literature. It has been shown that training in communication leads to improved aid relationship between health professionals and patients in difficult situations such as the death process. Therefore, you need a professional job acceptance of death as part of life where communication skills are one of the essential points to carry out a comprehensive approach to palliative patient.
