AECS: El reto transdisciplinar en comunicación de la salud = AECS: The trans-disciplinary challenge in health communication
Abstract

Abstract: The Spanish Association of Health Communication (AECS) was born on the 24th of June of 2009 to cover a field gap in Spain on Health Communication. Before AECS, it didn’t exist in Spain any official group composed by all different actors in the field of Health Communication with a trans-disciplinar approach. This is the reason why AECS members come from different fields, such as health professionals, communication experts, management professionals, researchers, lecturers, users of the healthcare services and patients. One of the key elements in AECS is the Spanish Journal in Health Communication, which after 5 years and indexed in national and international databases, is considered the main scientific peer-reviewed journal in the field of Health Communication in Spanish.
