Web communities as a tool for health promotion and disease prevention
Abstract
The use of the new technologies of the communication and Internet has turned into a very important resource so much for users with problems of health as for professionals. We try to know the contributions to the prevention and promotion of the health on part of the web and Internet communities, for what we have realized a search of information in different English and Spanish data bases, where there have been selected the most relevant articles that relate health and web communities. The presence of web communities related to the health is in expansion, being a phenomenon that has already showed benefits in the rendering of services across Internet, as complementary way of sanitary education and in paediatric hospitalized patients or in condition of isolation.
